Parent Participation Policy

Being part of a cooperative pre-school gives you the benefit of being in the classroom and having a "hands-on" part of your child's pre-school experience. We hope that it will be a pleasant one.

Your child will be the leader when you are the parent of the day. You will be responsible for bringing in the snack and drink that day (peanut-free, please). We ask that you DO NOT bring in individual size drinks and snacks. Also, DO NOT offer a variety. Cups and napkins will be provided. There is a schedule of responsibilities expected of each parent posted in the classrooms. In the best interest of your child and the classroom, we do not allow siblings on the assigned day.

If you are unable to make your assigned day, please arrange a switch with another parent. There are sub parents available for each class, but I would encourage you to switch before calling a sub, as you will then lose your day. If a day of participation is missed without arranging coverage, it will result in a penalty fee of $50. I will accommodate schedules as best I can. Please let me know in advance if you have a specific day you cannot do on the upcoming rotation. There is no order, as birthdays and schedules to accommodate make this a bit more challenging.

In addition to being an active part of your child's classroom, there are may other ways to help out with the school. There will be many opportunities to show your creative side. We will need volunteers to help with our Holiday Boutique, Winter Breakfast, Amblyopia Screening and to help prepare for our school picnic. Also, there will be times when we need volunteers to bake.
There are various times when we may raffle off donations. if you or someone you know has a business that would be willing to donate an item or service, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions regarding parent participation, please do not hesitate to call or email our Parent Participation/Website Coordinator, Kathy Riccio
